COVID-19 Update from JA Manitoba

Around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has spread to over 100 countries, putting extraordinary pressure on healthcare resources. Our hearts go out to everyone who is ill, who have lost loved ones, and whose businesses, schools, and lives are disrupted.

JA is committed to the safety of our students, volunteers, partners, and supporters.  Our community is counting on us to be leaders in slowing the spread of the virus and will need us in the coming days.  Our network, already actively connected under the banner of “OneJA,” has responded to the crisis with agility and innovation, primarily in an effort to help our students continue to learn as they find themselves out of school for weeks or possibly longer.

Pause of In-Person Programming

With schools in Ontario currently closed, all JA classroom programs as well as our After-school Company Program activities scheduled during that time have been postponed and will be rescheduled. Our centres are currently closed and our staff is all set up to deliver our mission from their home offices.

We will continue to monitor health and safety concerns and follow advice from medical professionals as we move forward. We will return to in-person program deliveries as soon as is advisable keeping the safety of our network and community in mind.

We will be updating here as we know more so please check back.

Launch of FREE Online Programming!

JA Canada has been working hard to make certain JA programming available online and—with the current global health situation—is launching some programs ahead of schedule with more to come.

We have individual interactive online programs for elementary and high school students, each is focused on entrepreneurship, work readiness, or financial literacy. You can find our current list of online programs visit jacampus.org

Resilience is built into the DNA of JA students, staff, and volunteers, so in spite of cancellations, postponements, and closings, we are embracing the opportunity to be innovative and find new ways to engage students and have a positive impact on their lives.

If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas of new ways to connect with each other during this unusual time please contact us.

Our mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
