JA (Junior Achievement) South Western Ontario is a Canadian registered charity with a mission to inspire and prepare youth for success in a global economy. JA programs are offered to elementary and high school students and focus on JA's pillars of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.
The JA Program Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of JA programs regionally throughout southwestern Ontario. The Program Manager’s job portfolio includes organizing JA programs for elementary and high school students as well as other program opportunities such as summer camps. This Program Manager will also provide support for the after-school JA Company Program.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Management: Manage the registration and scheduling process for schools and teachers, matching volunteers to programs and acting as a liaison between teachers and program volunteers. Provide orientation and support to participating teachers and schools. Assist in establishing and monitoring program delivery goals and reporting. Manage program material needs.
Volunteer Management: Recruit volunteers through a variety of methods including cooperation with key contacts in JA’s community and corporate supporters. Facilitate the volunteer screening and onboarding process and provide training and support to program volunteers. Develop and implement activities to ensure retention and recognition of volunteers.
Relationship Management: Develop new and nurture existing relationships with schools, educators, corporate coordinators, and volunteers. Ensure sponsor requirements are met in program deliveries.
Additional duties and responsibilities: Maintain accurate program records in line with organizational standards and objectives. Represent JA in the community in a positive and professional manner. Assist in organizing and executing other JA-organized events and activities as required.
Education/ Experience
This full-time position (40.0 hours per week) is available immediately with regular business hours and some evenings/ weekends. The position is based in Chatham, Ontario and reports to the Director, Programs and Operations for JA South Western Ontario. Considering the current COVID-19 pandemic, this will commence as a primarily work-from-home position and will include working from the office more as JA operations evolve in the coming months.
