ABOUT JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT NORTH ALBERTA
JA Northern Alberta has operated based out of Edmonton for over 55 years. As a chapter of JA Canada and JA Worldwide, it teaches students from grades 3-12 three key pillars for success – financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. Half day programs are delivered in schools by volunteer mentors from the local business community. JA’s “Company Program” for older students runs 18 weeks after school, its most famous JA alumni are the western Canadian founders of Skip The Dishes, but countless youths lives have been changed by JA students who go on to graduate high school and post-secondary more often than non-JA students, have less household debt, are more likely to attain middle and senior management positions and when they start companies, hire more staff and create more revenue. $1 invested in JA returns $45 to society.
